The Gerneral Assembly has arraived at it’s halfway point. The atmosphere in the group is fantastic, each one has the joy to communicate and to share with one another – and not at least the common joy to be at this event!
The reports which were given have shown how much the ICDS has moved forward and has grown in the past six years. Presentations about community building and formation gave new perspectives on how we could deepen the community on all levels. Following this, thoughts about possible cooperations between units based on the apostolates which are already in action there (building synergies) were shared. The future could become very interesting and fruitful …
You can find more details here.
The preparations are finished, the room is ready, the participants are excited and full of joy. The General Assembly of the ICDS is ready to start …

Ven, Espíritu Santo creador,
a visitar nuestro corazón,
repleta con tu gracia viva y celestial,
nuestras almas que tú creaste por amor.
Tú que eres llamado consolador,
don del Dios altísimo y Señor,
vertiente viva, fuego, que es la caridad,
y también espiritual y divina unción.
Nuestros sentidos has de iluminar,

Come Holy Spirit, creator, come
from your bright heavenly throne,
come take possession of our souls
and make them all your own
You who are called Paraclete
blest gift of God above,
the living spring, the living fire,
sweet unction and true love.
You who are seven
fold in your grace,
finger of God’s right hand;
his promise, teaching little ones
to speak and understand.
Far from us drive our deadly foe;
true peace unto us bring;
and through all perils, lead us safe
beneath your sacred wing.
Through you may we the Father know;
through you the eternal Son,
and you the Spirit of them both,
thrice-blessed Three in One.
All glory to the Father be,
with his co-equal Son:
the same to you great Paraclete,
While endless ages run.
Amen.

Komm, Heilger Geist, der Leben schafft,
erfülle uns mit deiner Kraft.
Dein Schöpferwort rief uns zum Sein:
Nun hauch uns Gottes Odem ein.
Komm, Tröster, der die Herzen lenkt,
du Beistand, den der Vater schenkt;
aus dir strömt Leben, Licht und Glut,
du gibst uns Schwachen Kraft und Mut.
Dich sendet Gottes Allmacht aus
im Feuer und in Sturmes Braus;
du öffnest uns den stummen Mund
und machst der Welt die Wahrheit kund.
Entflamme Sinne und Gemüt,
dass Liebe unser Herz durchglüht
und unser schwaches Fleisch und Blut
in deiner Kraft das Gute tut.
Lass gläubig uns den Vater sehn,
sein Ebenbild, den Sohn verstehn
und dir vertraun, der uns durchdringt
und uns das Leben Gottes bringt.
Den Vater auf dem ewgen Thron
und seinen auferstandnen Sohn,
dich, Odem Gottes, Heilger Geist,
auf ewig Erd und Himmel preist.
Amen.

O Lord,
Risen, alive and full of grace.
You paid such a price that we may live in freedom today.
We worship your holy name and give thanks for your redeeming grace.
Heavenly Father,
May we drink in your tender love so that we can pour this love out to others.
Come reign in our hearts, minds and spirits.
Holy Spirit,
We welcome you to blow through our every word, action and thought.
Come transform us on the inside so that each day we become more like our risen Lord.
Amen.

How quick the time goes by … St. Valentine’s is on the calendar again. You know already that we started in the last years some communication impulse within the ICDS = Lay Salvatorians worldwide community. – Yes? – No?
However – the most of you know that people of many countries celebrate the feast of St. Valentine on February 14th. It’s often not a day of vacation but many persons give presents of love to others who are in their hearts. The legend behind you can read on Wikipedia in several languages.
Maybe someone will say now, St. Valentine’s is not a Salvatorian feast – that’s right, in the first view. But if you read in the lines of Fr. Jordans diary and also in his chapter speeches you will find something like that:
“Treat your neighbors with the same love as if he were Christ himself.”
And not at least with that
“Others will be attracted to join in our community,
if they see how love reigns here.”
the universal call to LOVE to your next and especially to the sisters and brothers within the own Salvatorian community is to recognize. Therfore feel invited to set a sign of mutual love on this day to your Lay Salvatorian sisters and brothers. The General Committee of the ICDS took this date to improve our worldwide communication. We invite all Lay Salvatorians and certainly all members of the Salvatorian family to participate in this action of brotherly/sisterly friendship and love.
What to do? – Send a short message to someone you know in the Salvatorian family. Or much better be to someone you have only an address, but do not be in constant contact – e.g. someone from another continent. Give a little “hello from …” and include in the message a line or verse of a psalm or a text you like – or maybe a short prayer. If you want, you can include the picture of St. Valentine from this posting.
That all may discover and experience God’s love and the one whom you sent …
